Our Foundation

Our Founding Principles

Rite-Solutions will be an intelligent community that is bigger than its numbers and wiser than its individual members. It does this by appreciating the benefits of true teamwork, trust, and the harvesting of individual intellectual bandwidth. In a knowledge market that is ripe with need for thought leadership, during a period when extreme employee productivity and innovation is necessary, our timing is perfect.

We will assemble a team of proven professional partners who don’t necessarily have the same gifts, but whose combined gifts can solve an enormous spectrum of technical challenges.

Our quest will be to harvest the “collective genius” of the organization for the betterment of all.

Joe Marino

“What we will continually share, besides what we know as technologists, is mutual respect, trust, and a work ethic that guarantees results.”

– Joe Marino, Co-Founder

We Are Different on Purpose

A critical success factor is our ability to attract, motivate, and productively apply intellectual capital (people with engaged brains). To ensure that we succeed in our quest, everyone must understand our foundation, our business model, and our measures of success. Our foundation is the very beginning of our attempt to construct the company that we hope to be. It is below the surface but must be very solid and well designed to provide all residents the confidence they need to “live here”. Our foundation guides us everyday and will often make complex business dilemmas a simple matter of reflection on our basic values.

In the following pages, we express what is important to all of us as we construct our company. We want you to read this document and understand our vision, our values, our business model, and most importantly, provide you with sufficient information to assess the extent to which you are able to adopt these items as your own. Owning the foundation gives rise to a company that is populated by people who care for it, maintain it, and keep it safe, rather than “transients” who merely use it as a temporary address.

Do not feel badly if you don’t quite get it at first; it’s different. Some are just in search of a job in a transactional culture. It is only an exceptional culture that mentions trust, respect and intimacy in their founding principles – all very important ingredients to a meaningful existence as a good neighbor in a wonder-filled community.

We want you to know where we are, where we’ve been, and where we’re going. We want you to understand how we will judge your individual performance within our neighborhood. Once understood, you can then compare what is important to us with what is important to you, as well as your family.

Specifically, you can help by:

Understand and believe in our founding ideals.

Achieve those ideals, as best you can, each day.

Get involved as you see opportunities for improvement.

Our Vision

We are in search of collective genius. We truly believe that the power of aligned thought is best; no one is as smart as everyone.

The Pill Version:

We will gain knowledge and share ideas until we figure “IT” out.

The Long-Winded Version:

We will bring this organization, through gained/shared knowledge and TRUST in our people and technology, to a point where 100% of our workforce offers diversity, produces quality products, and uses technology that provides the most efficient processes. All problems have solutions; we will be known for our creativity, innovation, and dedication to assigning multi-dimensional professionals to our customers’ challenges, turning our combined intelligence into a customer advantage.

People new to the team are asked to pay particular attention to the intent of our vision. You are joining a group of TRUSTING individuals who continue to learn new competencies and who are eager to share both these competencies, as well as their opinions on the utilization of technology for our clients.

Our Values

Again, we have learned a valuable lesson when we worked for an organization that abandoned a simple value system. Our values are this simple:

  • Have a great place to work!
  • Do a good job!
  • Have fun!
  • Be proud of what we’re doing!

“The secret to success in a knowledge economy is human optimization.”

– Jim Lavoie,
Co-Founder

Our Business Model

We believe that there is a better business model to provide quality, caring, and cost-effective support to our customers. That model is illustrated in the figure below:

Our Measure of Success

Unlike others, we will measure our success in terms that are much more intimate than financial. Though financial performance cannot be ignored in any business, the true value of a community lies in its engagement and inclusion.

  • Are we getting good feedback from our customers?
  • Are we celebrating regularly?
  • Are we laughing at ourselves?
  • Would the customer be better off with someone else?
  • Does your family feel a part of our success?
Linda Lavoie

“The key to exceptional customer support lies in having a knowledgeable, excited, and motivated community of employees who care about their organization, nurtured by an encouraging, supportive environment, focused on the customer’s success.”

– Linda Lavoie, Co-Founder

Doing Your Part

Because a good community relies on the interaction of intelligent and caring people, doing your individual part is critical to the workings of the whole. This reality is especially true here at Rite-Solutions. Here, TRUST (rather than management policies or strict supervision) is the human characteristic we rely on to ensure collaboration, accountability, quality, performance, and results. The major flaw in the typical approach of defining discrete actions that people should perform to do their job is that it eliminates the opportunity for your brilliance. The below attributes will help you appreciate behavior that enhances a feeling of real relevance to an engaged citizen in a good community.

1). Possess an open mind and a positive outlook

We would rather hear “I can if…, rather than I can’t because………”

2). Have a sense of your own brilliance; we need it!

Hold yourself in high regard, but hold others higher.

3). Have a sense of humor

You don’t need to be a comedian, just let yourself see the humor in work.

4). Help yourself and others be remarkable

Seek out others who shore you up, and shore up others where you can.

5). Act like an owner, not a renter

When you do this, everything becomes your business, your problem, your concern, your pride and your reward.

6). Be a self-starter

You will wait a long time at Rite-Solutions to be told what to do, when to act, or how to proceed. You are not here to be supervised, we are here to mentor you when necessary.

7). Be honest and trustworthy

These attributes, above all else, are fundamental to being a member of our community. Mistakes made while trying to do the Rite thing are never punished.

8). Make Decisions!

If you act and think like an owner, your decisions will almost always be Rite. If you make a mistake, see the previous item.
